Today is supposed to be celebrating Africa Day. The day that birthed the spineless OAU which evolved to AU. (The name change reminds me of NEPA.)
What are we actually celebrating? The grand failure of leadership? That we need France to sort out the problems in Ivory Coast, Italy to sort out Libya and England’ Zimbabwe? Independence indeed!
I am sorry to break it to you,but there is nothing to celebrate. We are still in our nappies as far growing up to meet the challenges of our continent.
Hopefully, the Egyptians and Tunisians will take charge of, and complete the revolution that has been started. Hopefully, it will lead us to the point where we would have something to celebrate.
